We’ve heard some suspect methods for warding off wrinkles, but now beauty experts are saying you should shave your face in order to stay young-looking.

It’s called ‘derma-planing’ and you can either get it done by some dermatologists, or just do it yourself with a female face-razor, in your quest for eternal youth.

‘It’s definitely a thing,’ Alexis Wolfer, editor of The Beauty Bean told ABC. ‘One reason men are thought to get fewer wrinkles is that they’re constantly exfoliating their faces every time they shave, literally shaving away the outermost layers of skin and encouraging their skin to create new layers.’

In case you’re thinking ‘Er, why don’t you just exfoliate?’, Caroline Manzo from *The Real Housewives Of Jersey *told Reality Tea that she prefers it: ‘I shave my face as a method of exfoliating my skin. I’ve been practicing this for over 10 years, and I haven’t grown any facial hair because of it, and I have beautiful skin with minimal wrinkles.’

Great. And what about the regrowth, and the fact that you’re shaving your goddamn face? You’ll have the visage of a baby, but nobody’ll be able to see past the George Clooney-style stubble, surely. ‘The consequences are small if you don’t have facial hair,’ said Wolfer. ‘But for women with facial hair, it can make any hair look much darker and thicker when it grows back in with a blunt edge.’

Even though it’s apparently getting more mainstream, she goes on to add that it’s not exactly the most common method for exfoliation. Obviously, because that would be, erm, the use of an exfoliator.

Probably not a beauty hack to get on board with, then. Unless you’re this woman, who uses facial razors not for their anti-ageing properties, but because she can’t stand the tiny natural hairs that cover our bodies because we are human beings.

Anyway, take a look if it’s something you’re desperate to try out – because you definitely don’t want to shave your face with any old razor. Buy a facial one, and shave safe, guys.
