Newsflash: we’re all wizards. Not the top line you might expect on a Monday morning. But after a Dementor was ‘spotted’ in Zambia, it’s what I’m going with.
Apparently, the 100-meter-long, human-shaped figure (potentially a cloud, maybe a shadow, most likely Photoshop) appeared in the sky over a shopping centre in Kitwe for around half an hour. According to ‘eye-witnesses’: ‘some started worshipping but others ran away. It was so strange’.
But as Harry-Potter-trivia-nerds pointed out, Muggles can’t see Dementors. So if that was a legit Dementor in the sky, it has not only proved that J.K Rowling is actually a non-fiction writer, but that we are all in fact wizards or witches. And I’m not sure how to feel about that.
As the world waits for an announcement from Rowling’s PR, the Met Office, or a Photoshop prankster, I’m going to go for a lie down. This is a lot to take in on a Monday.
