Yesterday came the news that Netflix is planning on investing in more of its awesome originals, and it looks like one of these online-only releases will come from none other than Angelina Jolie. According to*Variety* she'll be collaborating with the streaming service to* *release an adaptation of human rights activist Loung Ung's 2000 novel First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers.
Angelina has adapted the script in collaboration with Leong and will reportedly produce the story as well as directing.
"I was deeply affected by Loung’s book," Angelina, said in a statement. "It deepened forever my understanding of how children experience war and are affected by the emotional memory of it."
She also added that the story helped her to feel closer to son Maddox, who hails from Cambodia like Loung. It's thought she'll also make the film a family affair, having her 13-year-old son work on the movie. He has previously lent a hand as a PA on his mum's previous project, By The Sea, but who knows if this time he may be set to get behind the lens.
Ange's film will be available for streaming next year - we'll be keeping an eye out for a Maddox cameo.
