We all know that countries get landed with stereotypes - case in point, everyone thinks the British have bad teeth, that we drink loads of tea, and that our food is terrible (obviously only one of those is true).
So it was heart-warming to see that an American tourist's sometimes astute and pretty amusing observations about the UK have gone viral in a funny Facebook post.
Scott Waters, a 66-year-old American from St Augustine, Florida, visited England for the fourth time and decided to note down the subtle differences between the UK and the US. With over 127,000 likes, it's clearly struck a chord with Brits and Yanks alike.
While some of it we totally agree with - yes, our pubs close too early, and yes cake is considered a food group, these statements don't wash: "the trains work, a three minute delay is regrettable" and "their coffee is mediocre but their tea is wonderful". Has Scott BEEN to Monmouth Coffee? Or taken a commuter train during rush hour? We think not.

I was in England again a few weeks ago, mostly in small towns, but here's some of what I noticed:* Almost everyone is... > >
