Remember Sarah Palin’s daughter? She’s a hypocrite again…

Abstinence Campaigner Bristol Palin Pregnant With Second Child

Cast your mind back to the 2008 presidential race. Do you remember the Republicans’ team? There was John McCain, and there was vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the Alaskan, gun-toting, bear-killing anti-choicer who didn’t only fluff a load of interviews, but had some very strong views on women’s rights.

As well as the separate issue of believing Obama isn’t from America, Sarah is anti-abortion, anti gay marriage, pro-capital punishment, anti-feminist and has preferred that funding be given to abstinence-only education instead of explicit sex education and distribution of condoms.

You know how, during her campaign, she was left in an awkward situation when her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, had clearly been having sex out of wedlock because she was pregnant? Well, Bristol’s current role as a preacher of abstinence-only sex education has now fallen flat on its face – at 25, she’s still unmarried and she’s pregnant again with another man’s child.

Now, we must say, there is nothing wrong with a 25-year-old being pregnant. There’s nothing wrong with having however many babydaddies. It’s Bristol’s body and what she does is totally up to her. The hypocrisy here is she’s made a hell of a lot of money - $250,000/£158,000 for a PSA, reports* Jezebel,* and untold amounts as a pro-abstinence pundit off of telling other people to do as she says not as she does. It’s one rule for her, another for people (mostly women) she looks down on.

Oh, and she doesn’t seem to want to be pregnant at all.

In her blog, she said: ‘I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant.’

Followed by the pretty tragic: ‘Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one.’

Shouldn’t babies be born into happy situations? ‘At the end of the day there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side, and I know I am fully capable of handling anything that is put in front of me with dignity and grace.’

It continued to read like she’s not all that happy to be pregnant at all: ‘Life moves on no matter what. So no matter how you feel, you get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up. When life gets tough, there is no other option but to get tougher.’

‘I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you. But please respect Tripp’s [that’s her first son] and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.’

Funny, lectures is literally what she’s been giving young women for years…and we can’t help but feel sorry right now. Not necessarily for Bristol, but for the child she’ll have, because imagine being called a ‘huge disappointment’ before you’re even born? Bristol doesn’t have to have a baby she’s not ready for…but her morals mean she won’t get an abortion. It’s mind-boggling.

‘My little family always has, and always will come first. Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.’
