There's nothing like forgetting (or not having time to) put makeup on for work, and finding yourself apologising for it. The other day, I was make-up free and someone I know didn't recognise me so I found myself saying 'Oh sorry, I'm not wearing any make-up'. Which is mad. Sorry for being myself and wearing the face I was born with, guys!
Amazing YouTuber Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman) regularly records sketches for her channel, and the latest one is brilliant - it's all about how life can get chaotic, and there's sometimes not enough time to put a full face of make-up on. Or any makeup. And the fact that we should ever apologise for it is totally crazy.
'Looking like yourself is not something you need to be sorry for,' she says in the vid, and that's something I can definitely get behind. And so should we all: there's nothing wrong with wearing make-up, but there's equally nothing wrong with NOT wearing make-up. Let's stop apologising for what our faces look like, and start owning it.
