Say Hello To The 'Undo' Email Button

It's a risk for anyone who presses 'send' - the miss sent email. Cut-off sentences; emails sent to your boss instead of your Gran; the wrong CV attached. We've all been there. But, thanks to the gods at Google, this is all about to change. Maybe.

Yes, our prayers have been answered. Gone are the days of accidentally sending a catty message to the housemate you were moaning about, or putting an X at the bottom of an email to your boss, the Undo send email button is finally here.

Google have added the option to their Gmail service, allowing users to take back a why-did-I-send-that message before it gets to the eyes of the wrong recipient. Like to email on the move? Don’t worry, you’re safe too, the app has also been updated with this feature.

But don’t think it’ll be as easy as blaming the postman for why your Nan’s birthday card mysteriously didn’t arrive on time. You have to activate the feature yourself in the open settings tag. But you'll have to move fast - you have just between 5 and 30 seconds to unsend an email.

Seeing as Google are being thoughtful enough to save our blushes, we think more error correcting services should be sent to save us. Accidentally sexted your Mum? No problem, back it comes. Sliiightly revealing snap sent to an entire WhatsApp group? All fixed. Or maybe you had one too many glasses of Rosé and accidentally downloaded a 36 track Whitney Houston CD? Money back on your credit card, no drama.

Now if someone could invent an app to stop us from walking around the office with our skirt tucked into our knickers, that’d be great.
