Is Going Matchy With Your Bridesmaids A White Hot Wedding Trend?

It used to be the age old curse of being a bridesmaid - forced to wear a frothy, ill-fitting dress so as not to upstage your bestie on her big day. But if recent celebrity weddings are anything to go by, it's all about having matching bridesmaids in matching white frocks.

Just take Poppy Delevingne who got hitched in London with sister Cara looking like her mini-me in a flowing white frock to match the bride's Chanel number. Whenthe wedding festivities headed over to Marrakesh, Poppy's bridesmaids were once again dressed in white and looked utterly dreamy.

Sienna Miller wore a pretty frock created by Matthew Williamson while Alice Naylor-Leyland and Olivia Buckingham both looked fresh as daisies in their hippy outfits by Alessandra Rich. As for Cara, she followed Poppy’s lead once again and wore a white trouser suit designed by Emilio Pucci's Peter Dundas, the same man who designed the bride's dress. Despite all being white, each outfit was unique to each lady's personal style (Cara is more a tux rather fancy dress girl), but all the bridesmaids sported a hippy flower garland a-top their heads for a unifying touch.

Meanwhile, at Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West, the Kardashian sisters also rocked the trend (at least, that's what we can gather fromthe grainy photos that have emerged thus far), much like the all-white gaggle we saw at the star's second wedding to Kris Humphries [above]. One thing's for sure, the mother of the bride, Lady Kris Jenner, was showcasing the family's famous curves in head-to-toe white. How fabulous!

Of course, the trend began with another set of famous sisters that you may have heard of: the Middletons. Yep, Pippa Middleton became a worldwide phenomenon when she wore an Alexander McQueen gown to match Kate's during the Royal Wedding in April 2011. And who could forget Kate Moss's bridal menagerie complete with her sister Lottie Moss and daughter Lila Grace who all wore identikit frocks.
