Admit it, you’re obsessed with looking at the gunk that comes out of your skin after a good ol’ Biore session. If, like me, you are addicted to pore strips, then this DIY hardcore peel-off mask is for you. And believe me, it will remove just about everything. Maybe not the guilt you felt from going home with that dodgy guy with the bad tattoos who had three dead fish in his aquarium, but close.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Gelatine (a quid at the supermarket)
Green Tea
Something to apply the mask (I used a basting brush, but you can use your fingers)
Brew your tea — a quarter to half a cup will do. This can work with milk instead of tea, but the combo smell of gelatine and milk isn’t the prettiest.
Add your packet of gelatine.
Stir until all the lumps are out.
Make sure your face is clean and free of makeup. When your mask is at room temperature, apply the mixture onto your face. Do not get your hair stuck in this stuff or you will die. After a couple of minutes, apply another layer. The thicker the better, as it will be easier to peel off.
When the mask is completely dry (around 15 - 20 minutes, or when you start to look like a grandpa), begin to remove. This experience is satisfying, yet also slightly painful. Seriously. This is me blinking in visible discomfort at whatever was being lifted out of my pores.

The results? Sight torture, followed by glowing skin that feels ten times cleaner than when you started.
In short, although you will be delighted at the gross bits that you see come off your face, this mask is not for the fainthearted. Is it worth it? Absolutely.
