In the celebrity world, constant bikini pictures circulate giving us mere mortals serious holiday envy while we’re sat at our desk in the middle of November.

However, with online pictures come Internet trolls and no one is safe from their scrutiny. Modern Family's Ariel Winter is no different. The image in question is her posing with her two nieces, where she happens to be wearing a two-piece swimsuit – which is innocent enough. Less innocent are the comments on the Instagram image saying that she’s ‘asking for it’, telling her to ‘put on some clothes’ as she is ‘only 17’.

In response, Ariel posted this Instagram post...

The responses to this post were altogether more positive, for example: ‘Glad that young women are standing up for themselves and publicly speaking out. The only person who gets to define you and your sexuality is you’ and ‘According to this, the compulsory length of my SCHOOL skirt is flirty. I have been called out on it by 'concerned' members of the public. The picture you posted was beautiful and the way you stuck up for yourself, a work of genius’

It should go without saying that no one should be told they're 'asking for it,' at any age. But clearly there are still some morons out there who think this is an acceptable way to talk to a 17-year-old girl...
