In case you have been living under a rock, Harry Styles and Stormzy both released albums last week. Today, Stormzy's Heavy Is the Head - which features a collaboration with none other than Tracy Beaker - and Harry's Fine Line will be going head to head in the charts.
Not that it’s bothering them, though. Last night, Harry played an intimate gig at London’s Electric Ballroom - and if you weren’t already sad enough that you weren’t one of the lucky 1,500 audience members, he brought Stormzy out on stage.
The pair performed Stormzy’s hit Vossi Bop, as they urged the audience to chant the lyrics: ‘Fuck the government ,and fuck Boris.’ The rapper had high praise for Harry, telling the audience he's ‘not just a pop star, but a brilliant artist.’ He added, ‘I want to say this on record, this guy has made a f**king brilliant album.’ Later, the musician added on Twitter, 'Harry Styles you are a legend my guy, what a moment.'
During the performance, Harry also repeated his Live Lounge cover from earlier in the week, singing Lizzo’s Juice. (As Jameela Jamil tweeted, 'Harry Styles covering Lizzo’s Juice is the exact tonic we need to get through the next two weeks.') He also held a rainbow flag as he sang We’ll Be Alright and Treat People With Kindness as the stage behind him lit up in multiple colours.
We will find out today which album is going to get the coveted Christmas number one album slot - but, somehow, we think both of them will be alright with the result.
