You know how Justin Bieber’s new song is an absolute banger? Well, it is. Where R U Now, produced by Jack U (the name given to Diplo and Skrillex’s collaboration), is long overdue a video, but now it has a video and it involved loads of fans scribbling all over pictures of Justin that were then put into the video. It’s pretty smart:
But we’ve noticed a couple of things. Obviously it reminds us of all of the overlaid scribbles used in Disclosure’s marketing. All of the people who comprise Bieber’s fans scribbling on pictures of him are adults of an even gender split, which might be a little misrepresentative of his true fanbase. And also, what was scribbled?
One person scribbled stuff like ‘Jelena 5Ever’ and then crossed it out with a big ‘X’, leading people to wonder if Justin and ex Selena Gomez (who we like to think the song’s about) are finally over? They probably always were. But it’s also worth noting that not one person scribbled a dick pic onto Justin. It might be testament to the power of a really great song causing people to refrain from defacing the former tween star, or it could be the fact that people were kindly asked to not deface the images they were drawing.
Someone did manage to get a drawing of Justin being strangled onto the video, but maybe he likes that kind of thing…
