Summer is here and we can't think of anything better than an outdoor event. Just imagine music pumping, sun shining and an open bar - pure bliss! So, if you've been given the task of hosting the event of the summer or if you just want to create a great atmosphere with your friends but have no idea where to start with your playlist, we've got it covered.
A true expert in creating an exciting atmosphere is Amazonica. She has shared with us her top tips on how to get into the summer mood and create the perfect summer party atmosphere and playlist. If you're not familiar with her work, you should be. She has quite an impressive resume. Amazoncia is a regular guest DJ at many award shows including the Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes and the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals - supplying the soundtrack to the film industry’s most high-profile events. Over the years she has firmly cemented her reputation as one of Hollywood’s favourite DJ's, spinning at the official afterparties for the premiere of the latest Bond, No Time To Die, as well as those of Last Night in Soho, Dune, House of Gucci and Baz Luhrmann’s ELVIS at the Festival de Cannes. She even performed at Timothée Chalamet’s Venice Film Festival Cartier party at the actor’s personal request - impressive!
So clearly, she knows what she's talking about and if there is anyone to take advice from it's her.
Here are Amazonica’s top party tips:
-
Even though I don’t drink myself, the best party tip is to get your guests DRINKING so they really let their hair down - otherwise you might as well just be at the office!
-
I’d always suggest inviting that one person who you know is fun and has no inhibitions to get the dancefloor going. Once they are there everyone will follow. Trust me.
-
Invite people from very different backgrounds and groups so there is a really interesting mix of people who might not hang together usually. Make it spicy!
If you really want to be low-maintenance, DJ Amazonica has shared an exclusive curated playlist with Grazia that will instantly brighten your mood. That way you can stick the music on in the certainty your guests will have a good time.
