Confused About What’s Going On In Festival News 2014? Here’s A Breakdown So Far

ERRGH. A new day, a new line-up. In the great big melting pot that is our mind (that’s already stuffed to the brim, thank you very much), all festivals have pretty much blurred into one giant party featuring Pharrell, his giant hat and lots of booze.

Just in case you feel like us – here’s a breakdown of what's currently been announced from your faves.

Bestival

When? 4-7 September

What? Rob Da Bank curated dress-up party.

Ticket status: On sale now

Line-up so far: Outkast, Chic, Foals, Major Lazer, Chvrches, Annie Mac, Disclosure, Skream, Eats Everything, with more to be announced soon.

Anything else?: Desert Island Disco is the theme. Make of that what you will.

Latest news: They’re doing some Desert Island Disco club nights beforehand! Check out The Bussey Building in Peckham tomorrow and Halo in Bournemouth on 6 June.

Unknown

 

When? 8-12 September

What? Croatian beach party.

Ticket status: On sale now(Earlybird sold out)

Line-up so far: Chic f. Nile Rogers, Chvrches, London Grammar, Jungle, Mouth Kimbie, Disclosure, Jamie XX, George Fitzgerald.

Anything else? They do boat parties and parties on private islands. The line-up for these is on the way soon.

Latest news: Nile Rogers And Chic have joined the line-up.

The Great Escape

 

When? 8-10 May

What? Brighton-wide new music fest

Ticket status: Day and weekend tickets still up for grabs and a few for Kelis and Ella Eyre at The Dome.

Line-up so far: Charlie XCX, Chloe Howl, Clean Bandit, Courtney Barnett, Elli Ingram, Future Islands, Goerge Ezra, Jungle, Little Dragon, Lizzo, MNEK, MØ, Tennis.

Anything else? Queue early for bigger acts.

Latest news: Two-day tickets are about to run out!

Parklife

 

When? 7-8 June

What? Giant Warehouse Project-backed Manchester day festival.

Ticket status: Weekend tickets sold out. Sunday still available.

Line-up so far: Snoop Dogg, Foals, Bastille, Rudimental, Disclosure, Kendrick Lamar, London Grammar, Katy B, Warpaint, Ella Eyre, Foxes.

Anything else? They just announced four new arenas, including one called the Smallest Club in the World and the Secret Stage.

Glastonbury

 

When? 25-29 June

What? Britain’s biggest, most famous festival

Ticket status: Sold out, son!

Line-up so far: Lily Allen, Disclosure, Blondie, Arcade Fire and The Black Keys. Latest rumours include Kate Bush (not sure) and David Bowie (not a chance).

Latest news? Erm, they’re trying to cut down on water bottle waste… by selling £10 bottles for you to bring along. Bargain.

Hideout

 

When? 30 June–3 July

What? Croatian dance-fest

Ticket status: All sold out. Unless you’re from a country that used to be Yugoslavia. For some reason they’re still allowed to buy tickets.

Line-up so far: Disclosure DJ Set, Rudimental DJ Set, Andy C, Duke Dumont, Bondaz, Brach, Heidi, MK, Wilkinson.

Latest news: There’s a whole bunch of pre-parties around the UK that are cheaper, but not as hot.

Field Day

 

When? 7-8 June

What? Super-cool East London inner-city festival in London’s Victoria Park

Ticket status: Still on sale

Line-up so far: Metronomy, Pixies, Drenge, Future Islands, Blood Orange, Danny Brown, The Horrors, East India Youth, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan, Neneh Cherry.

Latest news: There’s going to be FREE BEER.
