Still not ready to take on the big bad world of clubbing now it's stopped raining? Don’t blame you, we tried it earlier this week and it was like a bunch of circus animals being released from captivity: manic excitement followed by the crushing fear of WTF to do next. Needless to say it didn’t end well.
So instead, keep the party at yours this weekend. Yep the place will get destroyed and the neighbours will never forgive you but at least you’re only a short stumble from the safe cocoon of your bedroom which you can duck into when it all gets too much.
Tune-wise, we’re here to help. We’ve got Clara Amfo, BBC Radio 1 XTra’s weekend lady DJ to make us a brilliant house party playlist of her favourite tunes. She even apologised for putting a few guilty pleasures on there. Apology not needed Clara, not at all.
Now all you’ve got to worry about is the booze. Happy partying.
Here's Clara's Tunes...
-
'Maxine Ashley *Perpetual Nights - *This tune was produced by Pharrell, so it was bound to be a winner. Maxine's from New York has a sweet and soulful voice and I'm obsessed with her Moodswings EP.'
-
'Major Lazer ft. Pharrell Aerosol Can - 'Yes, it's Pharrell's second appearance of sorts on my playlist. I'm an unashamed fangirl. He features on this tune for Diplo and co which I'm sure will keep girls wanting to jump on stage at those infamous Major Lazer gigs!'
-
'Wookie ft. Zac Abel *Higher - *Wookie, who gave us that classic Garage remix of song writer du jour Sia's Little Man, has worked his magic on his original production with singer Zak Abel. great spring summer vibes.'
-
'Beyoncé *Yonce/Partition - *After her gorgeous performance of her pop power ballad XO at The BRITs, a switch up for the weekend is required. She's currently touring the UK and ready to slay a city near you.'
-
'Julio Bashmore ft Jessie Ware - Peppermint These two are no strangers to each other with Julio producing some of my favourite tunes on Jessie's debut album Devotion. This tune makes me excited for a hotter UK, I need to hear it blaring in a festival tent this summer!'
-
'Disclosure ft Sinead Harnett - Boiling - Pay attention to the featured vocalist Sinead Harnett, she's been touring with Rudimental and features on their album too and I can t wait to hear more of her solo stuff.'
-
'KP & Envyi Shorty Swing My Way - A classic, I don't know a single girl who doesn't like this tune.'
-
'Cassie Long Way To Go - Another stone cold classic from Diddy's rumoured fiancée.'
-
'Kelis Jerk Ribs - She's back in her own stand out lane as per usual and sounding so good. I suspect that her new album FOOD is gonna be great!'
-
'Kwabs Wrong Or Right - He's been on loads of those "Ones To Watch" lists for this year and for good reason. Good tune for the night bus!'
