Last week, Beyoncé performed on the Coachella stage, making history as the first black woman to headline Coachella but also cementing her performance as one that will be remembered forever. As expected of Queen B, she pulled out all the stops, so it was only natural that there would be speculation as to what she’d do this time around. Songs? Outfits? Guests?
All our questions were answered as of Saturday, when she performed as the headlining act once again. Although there was no livestream like last time, the pictures and videos posted by festival attendees were enough for us to live vicariously through.
As usual, all outfits were custom made and designed by Balmain. This time, pink and silver were the two main colours of the show, swapping out yellow and black. For the first part of the performance, B and her dancers wore pink, keeping with the same HBCU and Black Panther themes that were present in her first performance.
Destiny’s Child reunited on stage once again but this time they swapped their camouflage outfits (reminiscent of their Survivor music video) for silver pieces.
The same was done for Beyoncé’s opening outfit, taking its influences from Ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti.
Both Jay Z and Solange came out again, Jay Z rapping his verse on Déjà Vu and Solange and Beyoncé dancing together (in their new silver custom-made Balmain outfits). Also notice that Solange is wearing Beyoncé's custom-made Louboutin boots (or possibly her own pair), you know as sisters do.
This time around Beyoncé brought a new musical guest. Half-way through the set, she introduced J Balvin to the stage and they performed ‘Mi Gente’ together.
Now, you can get Beychella merch from Beyoncé’s official pop-up store, limited for 29 days and counting.
