If I was invited to Harry Styles’ birthday party, aka one of the most famously adored young men on the planet who probably already has everything anyone could dream of and more, I’d be a little anxious about what to get him. You can’t turn up empty handed. And a £6.99 bottle of wine from the off-licence on the corner just won’t do. But you know who nailed it? Adele. Adele nailed Harry Style’s birthday present.
Two years ago, Harry turned 21. You may have a vague memory of the 1st February 2015 as being the night that a who’s who of high-profile celebs gathered in LA to celebrate the day Harry Styles was brought into the world. And for his 21st birthday, Adele gave Harry a present that only she could get away giving. The album 21. As in, she gave him her own album. LOL.
In an interview with Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw for the release of his debut single, (it’s called ‘Sign Of The Times’, btw), Harry mentioned that he had chatted with Adele about his new album, reports NME. He said: ‘I’ve spoken to her a little bit, she knows one of the guys that I wrote with (his music) a lot. But I don’t think so much advice, I just like how she does stuff’.
Pretty straightforward. They chatted, they have a mutual musical friend, but she didn't really give him any advice per say. But Harry also said: ‘For my 21st she gave me one of her albums ‘21’ and said; “I did some pretty cool stuff when I was 21, good luck". I was like…geez.’
LOOL. Geez, indeed. Shall we examine what Adele means by ‘some pretty cool stuff’? Yes, lets. So, 21 is Adele’s second album. More than 30 million were sold across the world. It spent half a year at number one on the Billboard chart. It ranked in the list of top albums of all time. It won six Grammys too. Casual Adele.
I can't say that anyone's worried about Harry's music. Its success is pretty much a sure thing because, Harry Styles. And he's been rumoured to be working with some super impressive names in the industry, which is all very exciting. But even the most confident musician in the world probably wouldn't have known whether to laugh or cry when handed an album by one of the biggest superstars of our time, but said superstar, as a birthday present. There are no bad feeling or anything between them though apparently, so I'm guessing Harry laughed. He's still a huge Adele fan.
He added: ‘I think she leads by example, she’s the biggest, she’s amazing, she’s the best so she should be the biggest. The thing with her is she’s a different thing, she just good at it, I like how she does everything, it looks very nice’.
We like the way Adele does things too, Harry.
