Plans are still going ahead for Paramount Theme Park in Dartford, Kent. We've been calling it ‘UK Disneyland’ but it isn’t really Disney, the London Paramount theme park may RIVAL Disney but it isn’t Disney. It’s definitely Paramount. Either way it’s all very exciting!
The park will be twice the size of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and will cost £3.5 billion(!) to build. We will have to wait for five years though as its set to be opened in 2022 and that’s only if it’s approved by the government. If the government approve building will start in 2019.
A day ticket could be around £57 but there are plans to include the cost of public transport from central London so people around London should be able to leave their cars at home.
There are rumors there will be a theatre with West End-style shows, an indoor water park, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, lots of shopping and a 2000 seat art-house style cinema. There will also be 50 attractions inspired by Paramount films like Shrek, Forest Gump, Titanic and Rango. As well as shows from the BBC and Aardman Animations, who made Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.
