Dance with dogs at Visions Festival
A dog show, cheap prices on tattoos, craft classes, street food and black metal yoga (really) are just some of the things on offer at this festival as well as a dead good musical line-up at East London's Visions festival. Set across a whol ebunch of venues in Hackney, there's music from Anna Calvi, Lindstrom, Rosie Lowe and Young Fathers too. Day tickets are £35.

Get Olympic fit at Discorobics and Hox De Janeiro
It's the Olympics! So let's push this fitness thing into overdrive. If you want a fun way to work out this weekend head over to Brixton's Beach Boulevard, the Miami Vice, 80's themed, sand covered beach bar for morning Discorobics at 10AM. Obvs the music is disco, dressing up is encouraged. Alternatively, get your legging clad bum to Hox de Janeiro, the Olympic-themed pop up at the Hoxton in Shoreditch for hula hooping lessons, surfing classes, samba sessions and obvs Brazillian cocktails for afters.

Explore the 'Essence Of Gender' at Leeds Gallery
This exhibition is only in Leeds Gallery for just over a month so make sure you get yourself down there sharpish. There's different artists to see here, all who approach gender in their work in very different ways. Bobbi Rae explores her early womanhood whilst Megan Helyer looks the effect contemporary pressures (thigh gap, hello) have on women.

Go Back in time at Vintage Glasgow Merchant City Festival
Get in the time machine for a weekend with the Merchant City Festival in Glasgow's vintage weekend. From a classic car boot sale (there's a dog show which totally sweetens the deal) to a party night celebrating David Bowie and Roxy Music, to a Great Gatsby-esque brunch, forget you're living in rubbish 2016, just for a little bit.

Laugh and Cry At Edinburgh Festival
If you're up in Edinburgh for the Fringe then take some time out to have a watch of some of the excellent women up there doing awesome stuff. Take Harriet Kemsley for example whose show Girl On The Wrong Train is all about her decision to get married after a break-up she never thought she'd come back from. If you're more into theatre then have a look at Glasgow Girls, the play about seven teenagers who decide to take action when their friend, an asylum seeker, is told she'll be deported.
