1. Step in time at the Right Royal Knees Up Supperclub

Because of Queen Liz, we're celebrating all things British this month and what's more British than a proper old East End wedding? Pop up dudes Shuttlecock Inc are hosting a cockney wedding supperclub event thing this week that includes food, booze, games, dancing and 'immersive entertainment. Oo-er.

Right Royal Knees Up Supperclub, 27th, 28th, 29th April, Carousel, get tickets here.

2. Be fit at Be London

What kind of a world do we live in when we're voluntarily up for attending a festival all about fitness? Bonkers isn't it? And yet here we are. Be London, since launching in 2014, has become one of the biggest female-focussed fitness events in the country. This year, the line-up includes Madeleine Shaw, Honestly Healthy, Barry's Bootcamp, Seen On Screen and many more. Day tickets are only £25 and there's classes, shopping, tutorials, workshops and plenty more on offer.

Be London, 29-1 May, Islington Business Centre. More info here.

3. Kick your festival season off at Stag & Dagger

Festival season is here! How's about we kick it off with some nice indoor stuff though. Like Stag & Dagger in Glasgow which sensibly takes place in venues across the city rather than in a big old field in the merry (read: rainy) month of May. On the line up there's Deaf Havana, Band Of Skulls and We Are Scientists plus there's also loads of poetry going on on the poetry stage.

Stage & Dagger Festival, Sunday May 1st, Glasgow. More info here.

4. Celebrate Shakespeare at this exhibition of productions

By now you're aware of the 400 year anniversairy of the great bard. Yes, Shakespeare died 400 years ago this month and to celebrate, there's loads of stuff going on around the country. Check out the British Library's Shakespeare in 10 Acts which takes you from some of the first productions of Hamlet, 400 years ago, to present day film and theatre productions.

Shakespeare in Ten Acts, British Library, London, Until Sept 6th. More info here.

5. Stuff yourself silly at a falafel competition

Sadly, Ross from Friends will not be in attendance. There will, however, be a shit ton of falafel. Which is never a bad thing. Falafel for all. Held at London's Borough Market, there's going to be a competition between Egyptian, Lebanese, Israeli and English street food vendors to see who is the best as making falafel. How will you know? Guess you'll just have to try them all. Sigh.

London Falafel Festival, May 1st, Borough Market, London. More info here.
