Get yourself out of the house this weekend and actually do something worth Instagramming.

1. Celebrate Thai New Year by erm, eating loads of Thai food

Obviously you had Thai New Year marked in your diary. But, just in case you didn't, it's called Songkran and celebrated every year from April 13th to April 15th. If you fancy getting in on the action, there's a Thai Supperclub from Singha Beer going on at ever-changing pop up space Carousel to celebrate this Thursday and Friday. For £35 you get three courses, two drinks and to apparently experience all 'the thrills and spills of the Songkran water festival'.

Singha Beer Presents Songkran Festival, 14-15th April, get tickets here.

2. Eat yet more food at yet more food markets

It's that time of year again when the great street food market openings begin. This weekend it's the return of Lewisham's Model Market with food from Mama's Jerk, Mother Flipper, SubCult and You Doughnut. There's also five bars to choose from.

Up in Manchester, it's the return of Spinningfields Makers Market which runs from Saturday until October.

In Glasgow, it's Good Food Glasgow who open this weekend for six weeks.

Model Market, 15-16 April, free before 7PM, £3 after. More info here.

*Spinningfields Makers Market, 16-17 April & third weekends of susequent months until October. More info here. *

*Good Food Glasgow, 16th April-21st May. More info here. *

3. Get kinky with this Japanese rope bondage class

Shibari, in case you didn't know, is a type of bondage or BDSM using intricate rope patterns. This is a full day class that, while not cheap (it's £100 per couple) sounds absolutely bloody fascinating. Aimed at beginners, the class, taught by 'shibari expert Gestalta' will teach you about the origins of shibari and the basic knots you need to know. They say 'they promote female empowerment and consent culture through the art of shibari.' You've defintely wasted money on weirder things before.

Shibari Class, Peckham, London, Sunday 17th April. Get tickets here.

4. Find out more about your skivvies with this underwear exhibition

Find out what horrors your ancestors had to strap their boobs into at the V&A's new exhbition opening this weekend called Undressed; A Brief History of Underwear. Featuring designs from the 18th century, right up until today, the exhibition covers notions of the ideal body, and the different ways in which underwear can 'reveal issues of sex, gender and morality.'

Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear, V&A, 16th April-17th March, 2017

5. Embrace your inner kid and go and see The Jungle Book

There's a lot that can go wrong when you're remaking much-loved classics but this live action version of The Jungle Book featuring Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Lupita N'yongo as Raksha and Idris Elba as Shere Khan, is a total winner. Go, marvel, laugh and cry and cross your fingers that the upcoming live action versions of Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid turn out just as well.

The Jungle Book, out 15th April in cinemas nationwide.
