Eat food, get fit at Down Dog And Disco
Because any exercise you do on the weekend deserves all of the food afterwards, head to the new brunch-and-yoga mornings being held monthly at London's Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen. Obviously, it's called Down Dog and Disco, because, well, just because. For your ticket (a tenner) you get yourself a 60 minute yoga class to party music (much better than pan pipes), and drinks at brunch afterwards where you can either stay healthy with acai bowls (boo) or go all out with hash and poached egg. There's also a run before the class if you're feeling very brave.

See new films first at London Film Festival
Our version of Cannes kicked off this week and, if you find yourself in London Town this weekend there's LOADS going on and the chance to see a whole bunch of films way before they actually come out. Films like A United Kingdon, Ama Asante's (Belle) newest film starring Rosamund Pike and David Oyewolo about the true life tale of the king of Botswana who married a white British woman in 1948, American Honey - the newest film from FIsh Tank director Andrea Arnold starring Shia LeBoeuf (although don't let that put you off, it's bloody brilliant), the much anticipated Certain Women and All This Panic, a documentary about teenage girls that getting all the attention.
London Film Festival, 5-16th October. More information here.
Look clever at Manchester Literature Festival
If Cheltenham Literature Festival is too far away for you then head to Manchester instead for their book love in. Featuring Zadie Smith, Anne Enright, Margaret Atwood(!), Jenni Murray, Lionel Shriver, Jessie Burton and Vivienne Westwood (tickets range from free to about £25). There's also walking tours (a gothic walking tour of Manchester? Please yes please), workshops, afternoon teas with authors and a lot more.
Manchester Literature Festival, 7-23rd October. More info here.
Get merry and stay classy at London Cocktail Week
Because when it's London Cocktail WEEK it's basically the law that you have to go out. Also, because you're drinking cocktails not cheap wine from the corner shop, it's an entirely more classy affair. Plus, this is probably, thanks to all the LCW deals, the only time you're going to be able to afford to drink cocktails in the capital so basically, go forth and prosper. Get yourself a LCW pass for a tenner and get £5 cocktails at 250 different bars, free entry into the LCW village in Spitalfields where there's lots of stuff going on and also, access to all the different deals going on.
