The latest American export to make its way over to our fair shores is Brooklyn Bowl – New York’s infamous venue that stages live gigs and DJs, feeds its punters with fried chicken and classic American fare and keeps them entertained with bowling. In short, it’s the American dream. Now, it’s opened its doors in London’s The O2 after a launch party that saw Cara Delevingne, Stella McCartney, Ellie Goulding and Jourdan Dunn in attendance. We went along to have a look…

First things first – what’s the food like? American and terribly bad for you. Not that that stops it being super delicious. Plus, reasonably cheap – especially if you go for sharing platters.

What should we try first? The chicken wings. Oh sweet holy moly, the chicken wings. You can get 'em with white and/or dark meat, and they’re covered in honey. In fact, they’re so delicious we burned the roof of our mouths trying to get as many in as we could.

Anything to steer clear of? Hmm, not sure about the egg shooters – they’re hard-boiled eggs with pickled peppers and mayo. Weirdly intriguing but a mesh of textures too far.

Whaddabout the drinks? Beers are big news – check out offerings from the Brooklyn Brewery. In all fairness though the drinks aren’t mahusively cheap (especially if you’re not used to London prices) but there are some pretty decent house wines that aren’t too bad (£19.50).

What else is going for it? Erm the obvious one is – IT’S GOT A BOWLING ALLEY. Which is always fun. Especially after all the beers.

What’s against it? It is in the O2, which means as soon as you step outside you get that shopping-centre feel. This is basically only a problem if you smoke.

What are the loos like? Fine – nothing special, but currently shiny and new. Plus there’s loads of them. No queues here.
