It may seem like you and I have nothing in common with the royal family, but when September rolls around there's one tradition we all partake in — the first day of school photo. With Princess Charlotte set to start school later this week, here's a reminder of how all the princes and princesses before her made their school debut.

Princess Charlotte's first day at Thomas's Battersea in South London saw her join big brother George at the prestigious school, which famously values kindness as much as academic success. She arrived with her parents, the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, who said she was 'very excited'.
