Kourtney Kardashian hardly shocked the world last month when she announced that she was engaged to her boyfriend, Blink-182's Travis Barker. The pair have been indulging in some of the world's biggest ever PDAs, including videos of them snogging at Disneyland and that bathroom pic at the VMAs with mates Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox.
But, apparently, some people think she's been neglecting her kids - just because she has a new fiancé.
Kourtney shares kids Mason, 11, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 6, with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick and she used to regularly post photos of them on social media. However, since dating Travis - she hasn't posted them as much, which caused one follower to leave a snarky comment on a post she uploaded with Penelope and Reign that she was 'finally' spending time with her kids. Others were asking where her eldest, Mason, is - as he's not often been photographed.
Kourtney hit back, 'I'm with my kids every day thank God, social media isn't always real life'. What some followers don't understand is that Kourtney's social media is hers, and she is under no obligation to constantly inundate anyone with photos of her children. And as she says, social media is an illusion anyway. At the moment, it might not look like she's with her kids every day - but on the other side, if she was posting them everyday, it wouldn't necessarily mean she was seeing them all the time either.
But, most importantly, there's a double standard. After all, it's women who are expected to be with their kids 24 hours a day. Are the same accusations being thrown at Travis, who has two kids - under the age of 18 - with his ex-partner Shanna Moakler. (He also has a third, former stepchild from his marriage, who he treats as his own daughter.) And let's not forget Kourtney's ex-partner Scott Disick, who has been able to flaunt his romances with Amelia Hamlin and Sofia Richie, with fairly little flack for not being with his children all the time...
Let Kourtney post pictures of her kids if she wants to - or not.
