Donald Trump often courts controversy, but this time the President of the United States of America is courting the Nobel Prize committee. A total of 18 Republicans from the House of Representatives have nominated Trump for a 2019 Peace prize.
Many may have questions why Trump, a President who has proposed increased military spending, has argued for strikes on Syria and baited North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un on Twitter would deserve such a prize. To place Trump in the same elite category as Malala Yousafzai, Martin Luther ing Jr and Barack Obama was sent to the committee that said he deserves, ‘recognition of his work to end to the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula, and bring peace to the region.’ It continues: ‘President Moon Je-in of South Korea has consistently praised the Administration’s work and recently said, “PresidentTrump should win the Nobel Peace Prize.”’
