Ahh Brexit, the endlessly debated political topic that split the UK almost in half during a referendum on whether or not to leave the EU in June 2016.
Over two years later and we’re still debating it, last night Channel 4 aired a live Brexit debate called 'Brexit: What the Nation Really Thinks', which featured former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, representing Leave Means Leave, Justice Secretary David Gauke, Shadow Trade Sceretary Barry Gardiner and the Green Party’s Caroline Lucas on behalf of The People’s Vote.
When Nigel Farage was told that, according to a poll, people thought Farage would do a worse job of negotiating a Brexit deal than current Prime Minister Theresa May, Farage told the audience that May was actually delivering a ‘Remainer’s Brexit’ causing the woman sitting behind him to perform what is possibly the best eye roll of 2018.
And it captured the general mood of Remainers across the country.
The eye-roller in question (@harrietlucyel) identified herself on Twitter, writing ‘Thanks for all the kind words, this is indeed me!’ along with a gif of the now infamous eye roll, at the time of writing her tweet has over 4,000 retweets, and her bio reads; ‘I'm eye roll girl I guess’.
The survey results discussed on the show were the result of polling 20,000 Brits - it is thought to be the biggest survey on its kind so far. Findings included the discovery that more than four in 10 Britons would support a second Brexit referendum.
