Yesterday, actor and stand up comedian Amy Schumer posted, arguably, the most exciting photo she has on her grid. (Apart from maybe the one of her new born child).
We'd be lying if we said that we weren't jealous of Amy, sat beside Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jennifer Lawrence, casually hanging out over a beer. Of course we love a good celebrity filled personal photo, but we have SO many questions too. Here's what we know so far...
Where were they?
The photo was taken in Jimmy’s Corner, a bar located in the heart of Times Square, New York. It first opened in 1971 and is owned by Jimmy Glenn, a former prizefighter and cornerman - that explains the decor.
What does the caption mean? And, why were they together?
'I guess that this must be the place.' Amy, can you be more vague and inconspicuous please? Why, must it be the place? Does the place hold relevance to a secret project they're all working on? Or, more simply, was this the place they first met, and they're sticking to tradition? But to discuss what? So many questions, and we can only hope that the answer will be revealed on our screens, when we see our three favourite women star alongside each other.
Panic over and speculation aside, sadly this is not the case. They were actually together following a trip to the theatre. The trio went to see David Byrne's first broadway production American Utopia at the Hudson Theatre, and that caption is the title of an 80s rock song by Talking Heads, which leads in nicely to our next question...
Who is that man in the photo?
That man would be David Byrne, lead singer and guitarist of American rock band, Talking Heads. Byrne is currently staring in his one-man broadway show, American Utopia. Our new favourite trio joined him for celebratory drinks after the show.
Have they met before?
Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence are pretty much besties. Jennifer attended Amy's wedding in 2018, they presented an award together at 73rd Annual Golden Globes, and our favourite, they went to a Billy Joel concert together and danced on his piano.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a new addition to this friendship, and one that we hope will continue, beyond just drinks.
