If You’re On Netflix
This one popped up on Netflix just over a week ago and surprisingly to us didn’t do all that well at the box office. It stars Saoirse Ronan as an American teenager who spends the summer in the British countryside. Awkwardly for Saoirse’s burgeoning romance with a hunky Brit, a massive war breaks out that involves nuclear bombs, internment camps and teenagers fighting for survival. It’s like The Walking Dead: The Young Adult Edition, and perfectly manageable on a hangover.
**If You’re On Amazon
Oh God, this one’s only acceptable on a very special hangover, the sort that comes from too much chardonnay and a good few hours of weeping. The Lucky One is a Nicholas Sparks jobbie (how rich is that guy now?) and stars Zac Efron as a soldier who finds a picture of a girl in Iraq that he vows to find on his return. It’s sickening really, but in a good way. Plus, it stars Taylor Schilling from before Orange Is The New Black! If such a time did actually exist.
If You’ve Got Sky OnDemand

We’re guessing you’ve probably seen this film an average of five times in your life but it must have been a while since you revisted right? Seeing as it’s now on Sky Demand you don’t really have an excuse not to. We won’t bore you with the plot since you already know it (and spent a worrying amount of your teenage years freaking out that it was actually about your life) but do you really need an excuse to watch girl crush of the century Natasha McElhone in anything? Hey, she got us through five series of Californication, which, as someone that's not a oversexed male, is pretty impressive.
If Terrestrial’s Your Deal

I mean it’s not good, but if you’re on the verge of snoozing anyways, Fools Gold is on Channel 4 at 3:25PM. ICYMI, and I know you did you best to, it stars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey (and we’re talking McConaughey back in the the good ole days before he became a serious actor and was still willing to dine out on his oddly hairless but perfectly bronzed chest) as two impossibly attractive adventurers searching for some missing Spanish treasure while Ray Winstone tries to stop them.
If You’ve Only Got YouTube

This might not sound like the most promsing title for a feely film but bear with us. Alex and Ariane are brother and sister living with their mother in East Berlin. After Alex is arrested in a demonstration, his mother falls into a coma for eight months and misses the fall of the Berlin Wall and the introduction of capitalism. Worried another shock might be too much for her, Alex and Ariane go about creating a fake world in which communism still rallies strong. This means hiding Coca Cola ads, transferring food into old-style jam jars and paying local kids to sing the old party anthems.
