Wait, who’s this? Desiree Akhavan.

Who’s that? She’s only the new Lena Dunham, duh.

Why? Because she’s just been cast to star in Girls.

**Richard E Grant was cast to star in Girls, that doesn’t make him the voice of a generation… **Okay, well how about Desiree already has her own show and her own film abour 20-something girls living in Brooklyn under her belt.

That makes more sense. What’s she doing in Girls? She’s been reportedly cast as one of Hannah’s new classmates on her writing course. Alongside this guy.

Cool and what did she do before? Well, she started off her career with the criminally underrated The Slope – a web series that followed the lives of a lesbian couple living in Brooklyn.

At the moment, she’s making a new show called Origins Of Shame for Astronauts Wanted – a new video site for Gen Z (that’s the generation even younger than us).

So when can we expect her and Lena to link up on Girls? Sadly, we’re going to have to wait until January next year. Astronauts Wanted launches in June, though, so keep an eye out for that soon.
