PureGym
Open 24 hours, with your own online area for booking classes and tracking your progress, PureGym is kind of great if you don't actually like talking to people. You even access the gym with a pin code for the door, so there's no reception, you can just head straight in. Memberships start from £14.99 per month, though some of the central London gyms are a little more pricey (like £34.99), but there are still plenty of PureGyms in the capital that come in at under £20. There's no contract, loads of free classes and a 20% student discount if you're a UNiDAYS member. Want to try before you buy? New customers can get a free three-day pass if they register with PureGym by January 31st. Head here to find your nearest one.
easyGym
The same company as those friendly orange planes you use to transport yourself to places like Malaga and Benidorm also does gyms. There's no contract here and it's really inexpensive; £25 a month in central London, but as little as £12.99 elsewhere (!!!). There's no need for an induction if you already know your way around the machines and while there aren't loads of locations, if you're in the South East, you're probably sorted. Fitness4Less
There aren't hundreds of branches of Fitness4Less, but they're one of your best bets for bargain memberships in London, with prices in the capital ranging from £15.99 per month. There's no contract and plenty of classes like spin, yoga and circuits if that's your vibe. Find your local gym here.
Xercise4Less
With plenty of gyms around the UK and more opening soon, Xercise4Less memberships start at just £9.99 a month, with peak and off-peak options designed to save you money depending on your needs. Your first month is only £5, and no we're not kidding. The joining fee is £20 and there are 12-month or rolling contract options depending on how committed you want to get. Find your nearest gym here.
