Elli Ingram - The River

'This is SOOOOoo gorgeous. Warm smokey vocals with sparse, classy production. You can't help but be reminded of Amy Winehouse when you first hear this. There are a lot of female vocalists emerging at the moment and Elli is a cut above the rest.'

(Sorry kids there's no recording of The River available yet but it really is SO GOOD - promise. Here's Poetic Justice instead. Also, look out for our interview with Elli later in the week)

** Jungle - Busy Earnin'**

'One of the tracks of the moment. Insanely infectious, it's a real mood changer. Glorious.'

Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky

'Paolo's album Caustic Love is just around the corner and this is emerging as a standout moment from it. I love the way Paolo carves his own path regardless of fashion and music trends. He's a real maverick - one of those hugely talented artists who genuinely doesn't give a f... As long as he's making music and playing to an audience, he's happy. With this album though he's upped his game and I think this will be one of the albums of the year. His voice is sounding better than ever and the songs & production are immense.'

Rhodes - Your Soul

'I don't really know too much about Rhodes other than I heard this on the radio when Alice Levine played it last week and I was spellbound. A late night gem.'

Frank Ocean, Diplo and the Clash - Hero

'Features the West Los Angeles children's choir. Possibly the coolest collaboration ever and gets you excited for future Frank music this year. Understated but enormous. Tender yet powerful. Amazing track.'

Cousin Marnie - You've Been Fooling Me Baby

'This is mesmerising. She kind of growls rather than sings. Steve Lamacq introduced me to this. He's taken her to SXSW as part of BBC Introducing. Her karaoke song of choice is. Stand by Your Man by Tammy Wynette.'

Elbow - Honey Sun

'From The Take Off and Landing of Everything - another album of the year. It's magnificent - some of the songs are like hymns, but then. Guy has always sung like a choir boy. It's quite tough to choose just one song from the record because it's all so stupidly gorgeous but this stood out from the first listen. I became increasingly obsessed with the use Of the word 'Lafayette' the more I listened to this.'

Milky Chance - Down by the River

'For a change of pace I've included this track. I know nothing about Milky chance other than this track romps along and is simply great. It felt like a bit of a punt playing it on the show at first, but everyone's taken to it enormously. Hopefully you will too...'
