5 Fitness Classes To Try When You're Bored Of Yoga

Bored of doing the same classes over and over again? Getting complacent at the gym is a dangerous business because as soon as that motivation drops off, you're going to stop going. Because the pub is so much more appealing.

So, if you're getting a bit bored of your spinning or yoga or pilates class, it's probably time to switch it up. Here's a few other things to try.

1. Barre

Good for: building your core and burning calories.

What will I do? Over the course of each 60 minute class, you'll do classic ballet moves fused with Pilates, yoga and dance. Don't worry if you've literally got no ballet experience whatsoever; this is less Royal Ballet and more dance party with a dash of ballerina-ing.

Where can I do it? Virgin Actives nationwide. Get a day pass here.

2. Surfset

Good for: building your core muscles

REALLY FUN. It's like that time you went surfing on your gap year but you're not going to fall off (as much) and you're not going to get stung by a jellyfish. Hooray. Instead, find muscles you didn't know you had on the wobbly board from the safety of your gym.

Where can I do it? Available in London, Enfield and Brighton.

3. Glow

**Good for: Toning legs, upper body

**

Like a rave, but on a bike, with glowy, light up handweight things that you dance around with whilst cycling your little heart out. Even better - it's in the dark so you can look as much of a giant, red faced knob as you want to. Or, you know, stop for a snack without your neighbour noticing.

Available at: Fitness Firsts nationwide soon.

4. Swing Patrol

Good for: Burning calories, increasing stamina

Fancy being able to pull off the kind of moves ChaCha DeGregorio and Danny Zuko do at the high school dance? Sure you do. Head to Swing Patrol, the international school of swing dancing teaching everyone from beginners to experts how to Charleston and Lindy Hop your way around a dance floor. You don't need to dress all vintage and you don't need a partner, it's all for fun.

Where can I do it? Various locations all over London, all week, every week. Check out their timetable here.

5. GrooveCycle Dance

Good for:

Yes it's on a bike but no, it's not spinning as you know it. Not at all. Groovecycle is like what happens if you're cycling, listening to music, want to have a bit of a dance but are worried other motorists are watching.

**Where can I do it? The Reebok Gym in Canary Wharf

**
