The party season is well underway and what better way to celebrate then to whip up a little bit of the Christmas spirit with these cocktails. We’ve got the classics reinvented for you with Mulled Cider and Buck’s Fizz taking you from Christmas Eve to Christmas morning, to the more alternative options from London bars that will make you the party host of the season.

So take a look below at some of the best cocktails out there to spice up your Christmas.

Mead Celtic Punch

Punch is a party essential, and this Haig Club combo with Earl Grey and Raisin syrup is basically Christmas pudding in cup. Perfect for sharing, the Italian Liqueur also hints at Christmas traditions like another Christmas classic, Negroni.

A Mixture of Haig Club, Jonnie Walker Black Label, Mead, Raising Syrup, Earl Grey Tea and finished with a dash of Italian bitter liqueur, Cynar. Pop it in a punch bowl for a retro party feel and allow yourself to bask in the Beckham party style.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate is the ultimate winter drink- so why not make it a party special? We’ve always loved the What Is Agugu? Cocktail found at The Langham Hotel, it’s possibly the most indulgent Hot Chocolate in London. It’s not your average drink with a Mexican twist with Chipotle (not just a restaurant apparently).

Just like your usual hot choccy, serve this cocktail warm. It’s going to be an amazing combination of Don Julio Tequila, Mezcal, chipotle and pure cacao drizzled over real golden nuggets. To make: simmer everything (10ml Don Julio Resposado, 10ml Mezcal, 25ml Vermouth Cocchi, 10ml Agave nectar and half a dark chocolate bar) in a pan over a low flame. Pour into your favorite mug .

Mulled Cider

The lovely Londoner has created an amazing Mulled cider recipe- the lesser loved sister to Mulled Wine. She recommended it for bonfire night, but we think it’s a great winter warmer for Christmas Eve drinks or even for Christmas markets. Sloe Gin adds a sweet yet sour edge to the effect and brings it into the winter season.

To brew up a jug to share with your friends you need; ½ litre ginger beer, 1 orange, cloves, cinnamon sticks. Maple syrup, sloe gin. Stab some holes in your orange using a skewer and poke your cloves in. Pop into the bottom of a large saucepan, pour over your cider, ginger beer, add your cinnamon sticks and a splash of syrup. Put the lid on and bring to the boil. Pour into a jug and serve.

Buck's Fizz

We know it sounds silly and simple to combine orange juice with champagne, but when Christmas day comes around it’s the ideal brunchtime beverage (let’s be honest no one actually has Christmas lunch at lunchtime so it’s pretty essential to brunch). If you want to make sure it’s properly done, use fresh oranges, but don’t let that be the only ingredient- apparently tangerine juice is also delightful as an alternative. The only way we know to keep nerves in the kitchen under control.

Sloe Gin Negroni

Italian elements are always welcomed around this season, whether it’s Pannetoni or the classic Italian Cocktail, Negroni. Another great drink for Sloe Gin, so you know that your ingredients won’t go to waste. We love a little fusion and so adding a little British twist takes this cocktail to the next level. Imagine yourself in front of a crackling fire and you’re halfway there towards Christmas bliss.

The soft cherry notes of the slow gin balance beautifully with the bitterness of Campari to create a quintessentially British interpretation of this classic Italian cocktail. Combine equal parts of Sipsmith Sloe Gin, Sipsmith London Dry Gin, sweet vermouth and Campari in a glass filled with ice. Sri and Garnish with a wedge or twist of orange.
