Nearly every September/October, Apple teases its latest iPhones at a slick showcase hosted in California, streamed for the world to see. And while a new phone often just means tweaks here and there to Apple's iconic products, this year we were blown away.
The new iPhone 16 Pro model increased its screen size and added a new A18 Pro chip that enhances the phone’s performance and efficiency, making the phone 40% faster than the last. The standard iPhone 16 also received a brand new Camera Control button for controlling the camera app and interacting with AI, meaning it can used with Snapchat and Instagram.
And while the company shared various new features, there are a few that you might have missed. Keep on scrolling to see all the new things you can do with the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro.
Battery Life
We’ve all been there, where you had to cheekily ask to borrow a charger in the office or salvage battery life by opting to listen to the great sounds of public transport rather than music. In the newer models, battery life will be increased by 1-3 hours, with the iPhone 16 last 22 hours, and the 16 Plus lasting an impressive 27 hours. This is an improvement on the iPhone 15 which averaged on 20 hours.
Audio Mix
Over the years, Apple has positioned the iPhone as not only one of the best phones in the market but also one of the best cameras, with its ability to record high-quality footage at the click of a button. But one of the new features the iPhone 16 is delivering is Audio Mix. For any audio you record, you can now adjust the audio in a variety of different present mixes thanks to the Pro’s ability to differentiate between background sounds. This powerful editing tool is major for those on-the-go editors who don’t have time to run the video through various editing apps.
Password Word App
One of our favourite features IOS 18 delivered is the Password App - which you don’t even need one of the new phones to use. The password management app is very similar to the prior existing manager in the settings app, the only difference with this one is that it sits directly on your home page (saves you scrolling to find it), and it allows you to make groups within the app to send a Netflix password etc.
