Gwyneth Paltrow –wellness guru, lifestyle goddess, Oscar-winning actress – isn’t known for her simple approach to looking after herself. In fact, some of her biggest beauty hacks, shared on her website Goop, have been so far from simple that they often seem fantastical. A vaginal steam? A bee-sting facial? Sex dust? We’re still on the fence about their perceived benefits.
But now, as she expands her organic skincare line, she’s revealed the surprisingly easy wellness trick that she’s relied on since she was 22-years-old.
‘I take a bath every single night—unless I’m somewhere where there is no bathtub,’ Paltrow recently told People magazine, ‘I started getting really into taking baths when I was probably 22 years old and did my first movie in London. It’s such a kind of damp cold there, a bath is the only thing that gets the cold out your bones. So, I started taking baths every night—and then I came home and I just never stopped.’
Indeed, she’s using the routine practice as inspiration for her newest product launch, which will include bath salts, lotions and potions, for making bathtime that bit more Paltrow-esque and indulgent.
‘Over the course of time, from going to various countries where they use different oils, salts, and other ingredients in baths, I got really interested in the therapeutic part of it, and wanted to create a bath line that really answered the needs of the modern person and that would kind of bring those incredible elements of nature into your bathtub,’ she revealed.
