With summer on the horizon, we’re all desperately reminding ourselves of our new year’s promise to attend the gym on a regular basis.
But with the temptation of beer gardens and boozy picnics in the sun, it can be difficult to keep to our promise.
That was until we discovered a new gym class however.
David Lloyd has introduced ‘Napercise’, a class which consists of 45-minute sleep sessions. Yes, you read that correctly.
The class was born in the wake of research surrounding the ‘tiredness epidemic’, which revealed that 26 percent of adults regularly get less than just five hours sleep a night.
The aim of the session is to help attendees lower the health risks associated with lack of sleep. For example, those who get less than five hours kip are more at risk of developing anxiety and depression.
So in order to improve your mood, upon arrival at the class you will find a room with ‘spin-bikes swapped for single beds and upbeat workout tunes ditched in favour of atmospheric sounds’.
Wondering how the class will benefit your mission to achieve results? Well, the class will also introduce a specific temperature designed to promote calorie burning.
How much more convincing could we possibly need?
You can sign up for this weekend’s trial classes on the website.
