Welcome back to One Drink Five Ways, our very excellent series on how to make a whole bunch of different cocktails out of one ace bottle of booze. Best way to keep those picky people you call friends happy right?

This week, we're taking a look at what you can do with a bottle of St. Germain. A relative newcomer to the scene, this elderflower liqueur has taken the drinks world by storm since it's creation in 2007; mainly because it's super versatile. It works just as well with Prosecco as it does with Whisky. Plus, it comes in a beautiful bottle to boot.

Now this one you can drink all night. Elderflower is a great ingredient because it makes your usual tipple taste new again. Squeeze some lime into a glass before adding the other ingredients and give it a big stir. Tastes like vodka lime and soda with a new haircut. Get the recipe here.

Don’t be disheartened at the small portion of this cocktail – it’s a strong pocket rocket. Serve at the end of a nice dinner party when you’ve forgotten to buy the ice cream.

The Elderfashion

50 ml Dewars White Label
15 ml St Germain
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Add the St Germain, then the 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters before adding 25 ml Whisky.
Start stirring and add the other 25 ml of Whisky.
Stir more before garnishing with an orange twist.

You’ll need some chilled peach puree for this one and no, peach baby food won’t do as a replacement. Trust us. Build the ingredients in a tall glass over ice cubes. Once you’ve had enough of these, keep the puree for other stuff – you can freeze it to make sorbet, or sweeten up some Prosecco and make a bellini. Get the recipe here.

Maybe it’s because our generation grew up believing the lifestyles portrayed in Sex and the City were achievable, but there will always be something ridiculously appealing about a Martini glass. This cocktail is a lighter, sweeter take on the classic Martini, which means it smells like a bouquet of flowers and tastes just like you imagined when you were fifteen.

Elderflower Martini

60 ml Grey Goose Vodka
30 ml St Germain
15 ml Martini Extra Dry

Come summer this cocktail will be amazing during a long, hot afternoon in the garden – so you better get your practice in now and drink as many as you possibly can. Make sure your lemon is fresh and sitting at the top of the glass so the strong, zesty fragrance hits you (not literally, for gods sake) as you sip. Learn how to make it here.
