When was the last time you stopped to take a moment to appreciate your McDonalds chicken nuggets? To really look at them, take in their shape, size and any other chicken nugget thoughts you may have? My answer: never. Because like most people, they go straight in my mouth.
But we’ve all been doing it wrong, because according a resurfaced post from McDonald’s Canada, McDonalds chicken nuggets have four very particular shapes. And they are: the ball, the boot, the bow-tie and the bell. Sorry what now? Is anyone else as confused as I am? How can a chicken nugget resemble a bloody bow-tie?! I decided to take my merry Friday self down to Mcdonalds to purchase some nuggets and see for myself. Here’s the outcome:
The ball
Yep, definitely a ball. The type of ball you’d kick around when playing football, so really a football.
The bell
I mean it kind of looks like a bell….if you really look at it. Does it? I’ve been looking at it for too long and now I don’t know.
The bow –tie
Yeh I’m sorry but there is no way this looks anything like a bow-tie. Just no. Eat it and forget bow-ties were ever mentioned.
The boot
I see it, it’s like a cowboy boot. The type of one Selena Gomez wears in that film Monte Carlo with the fancy dress.
Apparently the reason they are shaped this way is because having four shapes is the ‘perfect equilibrium of dupability and fun.’ Right. They are also always similar sizes, to ensure consistent cooking times for food safety. So there you have it, your four Mcdonald chicken nugget shapes. We highly recommend going and getting some yourself because it’s Friday and you deserve a nugget.
