After the ultimate Christmas dinner leftover sandwich that's also achievable on a Boxing day hangover? The

are back again to show you how. They’ll discuss each layer and also, because they're nice like that, give you some ideas on how you can adapt it at home.

Over to GSC's Verity...

'We started of with two slices of multi-seeded bread, lightly fried in a little salted butter to give the bread a crunchy, buttery sensation which was a much needed foundation for the two stone (approximately!) filling that's about to go in.'

'Next, we added our first layer which was a generous portion of caramelised red cabbage and onions with a few sultanas. To create the caramelised cabbage take some sliced cabbage, sliced onion and saute with a little brown sugar and a knob of butter. You could even slice up carrots, or the dreaded brussel sprouts, anything tastes good when you add butter and sugar.'

'After this, we added a crunchy bed of fresh spinach before placing a juicy layer of turkey and cranberry sauce. You can use any leftover meats and condiments… beef and horseradish, gammon and mustard... basically whatever meat you didn't demolish on Christmas Day! And, for all you veggies out there, how about a layer of nut loaf and onion marmalade?'

'Now, from previous Christmas dinner experience I'd say there's always a fair amount of veg and roast potatoes left over. These are the the perfect excuse to make yourself a bubble and squeak patty, which is a banging addition to your Christmas sandwich. To make it, simply mash all the leftovers up, squash into a pattie and lightly fry in more butter until lightly golden. You want the patty to hold together but also crumble when you take that first bite. Over the top of the patty we sprinkled a layer of crispy pancetta but you could also add sauteed onion or crispy onions instead.'

'Finally, the last but most important layer of all; pigs in blankets. These always taste better homemade (or from Waitrose). So if you can spare some time away from unwrapping presents and singing Christmas carols, get yourself some nice streaky bacon and wrap around your favorite chipolata sausages… sprinkle some salt and pepper, dollops a drizzle of oil and cook till crispy! Carefully place on top of the patty - squishing down slightly to compact this mammoth creation together!'

'We finished off the final layer with MORE cranberry sauce but you can use any leftover sauce, even gravy!'

'Please be aware this is pretty hard to pick up and eat and is probably a two person knife and fork jobby! Happy food coma and merry Christmas!'
