If there’s one thing I know, I know it’s ice cream. I can tell you the top five gelato shops to go to in Rome, in order of creaminess, where to buy the best soft whip in Aldeburgh and which London ice cream shops are actually worth visiting. Ok yes granted it’s not politics but the politics of ice cream is highly important so before we continue on with this article let’s get one thing straight: ice cream is life. Therefore, this café serving up ‘ice cream clouds,’ is larger than life. And not just because it's absoultely bloody massive.
Milk Train Café in London’s Covent Garden is serving up its costumers the most Instagram worthy scoops of soft-whip ice cream on a bed of candy floss clouds. That was quite possibly the most Pinterest-thing I’ve ever said, hey social media ed over here.
The shop opened back in August 2016 and has since been high on tourists visit lists. Apparently they spin so much candy floss daily it would fill the entire shop, and they make around 400 cones a day. You can choose from three flavours of Mr Whippy, chocolate, vanilla and matcha green tea for all the healthy-ish customers. And they have a rotating flavour that they throw into the mix every day, today’s is blueberry.
I’m going to be honest with you, the thought of eating one of these giant creations does make me feel a little sick – and I’m a sugar addict so coming from me that’s something. Candy floss + ice cream + oreos + whatever other topping you want to slap on top sounds a little too much, plus I’m going to hazard a guess that these will set you back almost a tenner. But it is pay day so #yolo? Go forth and Instagram the hell out of this thing, then eat it and tell us how sick you feel after. All in the name of ice cream research.
