You may have mud up to your knees and be smashed in a field - but your Glasto grub should stay top class

Glastonbury Food: The Best Food Stalls To Try At This Year's Festival

Once upon a time festival food served no other purpose than giving us enough fuel to copiously day drink, mosh until we passed out in the mud and survive on an average of three hour’s sleep per night. These days, what you feast on is just as important as whose set you see. For next week's Glastonbury, we've rounded up the places you should be dining in between Pharrell, Paloma and trips to the Pyramid.

Jumping Bean Burrito

For when you’re on your sixth pint and getting Mexican is the Best Idea Ever. A regular at Bestival, T In The Park and Creamfields, choose between their tangy Fajita Chicken Burrito and carb-free Naked Burrito. Throw in some guacamole for a refuel that’ll have you jumping from Florence to Motorhead.

Mango Rays

Chilli con carne, chicken and mango curry and a selection of smoothies are just some of the homemade highlights at this Mancunian stall, which is already building a celebrity following (Katy Perry’s drummer bought one of their ‘Barking Bad’ T-shirts at Glasto last year). Veggie, vegan and gluten-free options on the menu will ensure this is a favourite with the teepee brigade.

Paellaria

Does what it says on the tin: seriously delish paella. They won ‘Best Concession’ at the UK Festival Awards in 2012, and serve up green veggie and chicken chorizo options for about £7 a pop. The ideal lighter dish for pre-Kanye.

Pura Vida

The second Mexican on our list, Pura Vida have been working the festival circuit for over 20 years and have had time to perfect their culinary offerings. On the menu are fresh quesadillas, spicy enchiladas and cheese-smothered nachos. Plus, we love a stall with a fab Mexican food-themed hashtag: #BringOnTheFuego

Bringing a little French gastronomy to the masses in massive pans, they won ‘Best Stall at Glastonbury’ in 2003. Try their famous Tartiflette Originale (potatoes, smoked bacon and cheese).

**

The ultimate festival destination for when you’re hungover and only bacon will do. Local to Glasto, this small family business have made an appearance every year since 2007. Simple pleasures like bacon rolls for breakfast and rump steak sandwiches for lunch lead us to predict a queue the length of Worthy Farm.
