Is any Christmas complete without a fairytale-inspired gingerbread house? We think not. We love sugar, spice and all things nice - so when the festive period rolls around we simply can't resist a tasty gingerbread house. Plus, it's an added bonus that they look extra cute on display in our flats.

Want to make one for your pad this year? Luckily for you, The Debrief's Culture Writer Jaz wanted to amp up her cooking skills, so she teamed up with Currys PC World to create a cooking vlog filmed on the new Intel® Powered HP Pavilion laptop. Watch her show you how to make a gingerbread house that's good enough for Hansel and Gretel, below...

Ingredients:

    Method:

    1. Massage the icing bag for one minute until it feels soft, then cut one corner of the icing bag so the opening is about 0.5cm big.
    1. Lay out all six pieces of the gingerbread house on a table with the design side facing downwards. Pipe a line of icing along each edge of the front and back panels, and then pipe icing into each corner of the indented areas of the 'help to build tray'.
    1. Using the 'help to build tray' (which is a god-send, by the way), place one of the front/back panels into the indented channel and hold it in place. Then, press one of the side panels up against the strip of icing . Repeat this process with the other side and end panels to create a house structure.
    1. Pipe a thick line of icing along the top edge of the front and back panels, and then gently attach the roof panels to the top. Be sure to hold them in place for about one minute so they're secure. Then wait one hour for the icing to dry.
    1. Now for the fun part! It's time to decorate your gingerbread house with confectionary. Simply pipe some icing on the area of the house you want to stick your sweets or chocolate to, and then hold the sweet over the icing for 30 seconds. Once complete, place your gingerbread house on show for all to marvel at, and wear your best smug smile.
