Could this transform the way we shop for food?

All You Need To Know About Farmdrop

Farmdrop is the new way to shop for fresh local food and could see supermarket shoppers buy produce in a totally different way.

Local producers get a 75% share of the retail price of what’s ordered, which is so important for our local farmers, normally supermarkets would give something between 25 and 50% and it can all be purchased through an app.

The best thing about farmdrop is everything is picked up as soon as you order, which means no food is wasted! Can I get an Amen up in here!

1. Where do Farmdrop deliver?

Deliveries are in London at the minute but will expand to Bristol later this year. Plus there are plans to have a hub in Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh as more people choose local food.

And today, Farmdrop launched a next day delivery service, whoop! Its available if ordered by noon the previous day.

2. Is There A Minimum Spend?

No, there is no minimum spend. They say ‘feel free to spend as much or as little as you like. (Please note there is a £3 surcharge for any order under £30.)’

3. How and when do I pay?

They accept all major credit and debit cards, including American Express. ‘Please note our pay provider authorises each payment when your order is placed, to make sure we're meeting strict security regulations. (We want to make sure your money isn't swept into money laundering schemes or re-routed to fund terrorism)’.

4. Can I set up a repeating order?

Not quite yet, repeat orders is something they are working on. ‘But in the meantime, the easiest way to set up a repeat order is to save your favourite or most-used items to a Shopping List and order from the list in one click.’

5. What Happens If Something I Ordered Isn't Available?

The growers, bakers and producers work hard to deliver everything that has been ordered, but working with small independent producers means that very occasionally they have to replace an item at short notice. ‘If this happens, an identical product from a different producer, or something very similar. (Any price difference will be credited to your Piggy Bank or paid for by us.) Please don’t worry that you’ll get sponges instead of spring onions; people choose our replacements, not computers.’

Happy shopping foodies!
