Eggs Are Here To Stay: Here’s Where To Dine Out On Some Cracking Oeufs In London

Guys. How many eggs have you had today? Seriously. I’ve had like four. I can’t escape them. Eggs are everywhere, thanks to some sort of perfect storm between the hipster foodies and the health freaks (hello protein). Anyways. If you want more eggs (and why wouldn’t you?), we’ve rounded up the best of the best of the places to get some.

EggBreak

_eggbreak

This Notting Hill egg-themed restaurant only opened two months ago and might not look like much from the outside (it was previously called ‘Thai Break’ and the ‘Thai’ has been crossed out and ‘egg’ scrawled in its place), but it’s from the people behind the Hoxton Hotel and Soho House so you know it’s going to be good. I mean, their Instagram alone should be enough incentive to make you head in that direction right now, otherwise, I really don’t know what I can do to help you in life.

30 Uxbridge St, W8

The Good Egg

This hasn’t actually opened yet, but people have been hyping about it for like, ever. Well like, three months. But still. Anyways, it’s in Stoke Newington, so expect VERY COOL EGGS. It’s a café, set up by a group of friends who started out on a street food stall, is involved in helping out the local community and cooks a mean egg. Expected to open on 25 September.

Foxcroft & Ginger @ Beyond Retro Dalston

Who knew you needed a specialist poached egg bar? Nope, us neither, but now it’s here you might as well have a ganders. Especially when one of their dishes is ‘sweet potato scones with chorizo, poached egg and chermoula sauce' (which is a crazy good cumin-y lemon thing from Morocco, BTW). Plus, if your eggs give you the energy to go vintage shopping (that's a thing. Right?), you’re already at the store.

Beyond Retro, 92-100 Stoke Newington Road

The Bad Egg

Not the evil twin of The Good Egg, this filthy (in a good way) egg-based restaurant is full of ‘truly terrible for you, but oh so tasty’ egg-based treats, from burgers to all-day brunches to different hashes – like pulled pork and kimchi hash, topped with a fried egg.

1 Ropemaker St, EC2Y

Yolk, London

This egg shack doesn’t have a permanent base, but you can check it out at Kerb London from time to time. They also do the odd pop-up around London from time to time. Check out their runny scotch eggs. Also, props to them for not just sticking to hen eggs; they’ve also got stuff going on with duck eggs and a healthy amount of meat-based goodies on offer, too.
