Blackfoot, London
Just opened in London’s Exmouth Market, Blackfoot’s already made a name for itself as being a top notch purveyor of meaty goodness. From the traditional British gammon, egg and chips to the Vietnamese belly salad to the pulled pork tacos, to the ‘Love me tender’ ribs, it’s an exercise the best ways to enjoy pig from around the world.

Grillstock Smokehouse, Bristol
Manned by the guys behind Bristol’s infamous Grillstock Festival, the Smokehouse is a down and dirty BBQ joint offering an exercise in ManFood. For the really brave (ie stupid) there’s the Man Vs Food style challenge ‘Grand Champion’ featuring pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs, sausage, PLUS fries, slaw and beans. Eat it all, win a t-shirt. Total result.

The Big Easy, London
Once only serving London’s well-heeled on London’s The Kings Road (that’s MiC territory guys) The Big Easy is about to get a lot more punters than Jamie and co as it opens in Covent Garden later this month. As a BBQ joint AND a crab shack we’d recommend something off the surf’n’turf menu to avoid missing out.

Southern Eleven, Manchester
Situated in Manchester’s Spinningfields, Southern Eleven’s secret are it’s wood burning ovens which smoke their meats for up to 20 hours. Watch out for their ‘shake your own cocktails’ too. Turns out it’s a lot harder than it looks – although probably burns like five of the calories from that giant rack of ribs you’re going to get.

Red's True BBQ, Leeds
Less a BBQ joint, more a religious house dedicated to the worship of meat, Red’s in Leedsmight be a little bit OTT (donut burger – we’re looking at you) but nevertheless provides a very tasty seyt of ribs – even if it is served in a dustbin.
