Brace yourself. This is quite possibly the worst news of the year so far. I am legit holding back the tears as I write this. The company that runs Bargain Booze, Conviviality, are due to file for administration within the next 2 weeks. Another shop where I spent my teen years, gone.
It was just last week, they issued a profit warning (actually, they issued a few) saying that they needed to raise £125 million in order to save themselves. That’s quite a big ask, even if you are everyone’s go-to alcohol retailer. Needless to say, they didn’t manage to raise the funds and now 2500 people could lose their jobs.
The company supplies over 25,000 restaurants, hotels and bars, including JD Wetherspoons. They supply over 900 Wetherspoons pubs up and down the country and I swear, if Wetherspoons prices are affected I’m just going to move out of the country.
Thank you, Bargain Booze for all of the house parties you supplied. You will be missed for the fact that you have simply the best deals around.

Lambrini is quite frankly, a fan favourite. Nowadays, it may taste like something you’d find in your cat’s litterbox but at £2.99 I DON’T CARE.
2 Brewdog beers for £4 is a deal and a half, considering you’d probably pay £4 for 1 in a bar.

Sharp’s classics such as Doombar and Atlantic are on offer as 3 for £5. Give me anything at 3 for £5 and I’ll buy it.
