Easter Plans Sorted, Aldi Are Releasing Their Own £6.99 Version of Aperol

What are you up to this Easter? In between stuffing my face with chocolate and seeing family (so they can provide me with more chocolate) I’ll be doing what I do best on holy days…getting drunk.

My options just keep getting better and better. After the success of last year’s three-litre bottle of prosecco as well as the award winning £9.97 gin, Aldi are on a roll. They’ve released their very own version of the trendy Italian Apertif and it’s half the price of the beloved Aperol at only £6.99. What a bargain.

It could be mistaken for the real thing. It’s got that same bright colour, thanks to its perfectly balanced orange, rhubarb, vanilla and of course all that herby goodness. If you couple it with Aldi’s £5.99 prosecco and add a splash of soda water, you’ve basically got yourself a spring time spritz.

Julie Ashfield, Aldi’s joint managing director for corporate buying says:

‘Not only is our Aperini perfectly on trend, it’s also in keeping with our commitment to providing our customers with products of incredible quality. With customers planning spring get-togethers, we were keen to extend our spirits offering by introducing a perfect alternative for creating the popular spritz drink. It’s equally delicious served over ice with a fresh fruit garnish and a spring of mint,’

You heard the woman, grab the fruit garnish.

Spring is basically (sort of) here if you ignore the multiple snow days. Everyone knows that spring is the baby sister of summer, which means you better crack a bottle open.
