Struggling to decide what to have for lunch today? Don't spend a small fortune getting anything fancy. In fact, you can get yourself a perfectly adequate meal for less than £2. Here's a few suggestions.
Tesco Egg And Cress - £1
Some people have a huge aversion to egg mayonaise and, if that's you, this isn't the sandwich for you. Obviously. But if you appreciate the subtle genius of this old classic from the sandwich annalls of yesteryear then get stuck in. It's a bloody pound for goodness sake. And it's on brown bread.
Waitrose GOOD TO GO Red Leicester Cheese Salad Sandwich - £1.52
Normally in cheese sandwiches you'd just get a slab of cheddar but not with Waitrose. Oh no. The high end supermarket take their cheese sandwiches seriously and have splashed out on Red Leicester cheese to give their sandwich an extra kick. Dead fancy.
Pret Wilshire-Cured Ham & Pret Pickle - £1.99
Again, pickle can be an acquired taste, but if you're a fan of the sticky stuff then dive on in there. This being from Pret, it's guaranteed to be that little bit better than it's supermarket counterparts.
M&S Ham And Coleslaw Sandwich on Wholemeal Bread - £1.45
My personal fave out of the lot. This guy makes a nice break from 'ham n' pickle', 'cheese', 'tuna' and 'egg' - which is pretty much all the cheaper sandwiches are made of. Nice bread, and the coleslaw gives it a nice crunch.
Morrisons Tuna & Sweetcorn Sandwich - £1.70
A little limp, a little sad looking, but still a total bargain.
