1. Put your bedside table to work
We don’t all have the luxury of having space for a whole actual dressing table as well as a bedside table. So if your bedroom’s a squeeze you can always combine the two. Your alarm clock can sit quite happily next to your decorative mirror. Esty have some really pretty ones you can prop against the wall.
2. All within reach
If you’re one of those people who needs everything reach for those mornings (every morning) when you’re getting ready in a rush, the trick is to contain the clutter. These decorative trays from Zara Home will sort you right out. Pop everything on to the tray and anything that doesn’t fit gets put away. No exceptions.
3. Queen of the plants
Plants are always in and are a sure-fire way to up your decorative game. So you may as well go all out and surround your mirror with them, right? Obviously, this works best if you’ve got the surface space to hold them, but if you do we’re a big fan of the variety on sale over at Geo Fleur.
4. The mirror feature wall
If you get bored of staring at your face while you’re getting ready of a morning, you can always give yourself an array of other pretty pictures to look at. Arrange some cool prints or postcards around your mirror to a vanity feature wall. Just make sure everything's framed, though. It'll look more grown up than if you use dried out blue tac. Don't worry, we've got a handy guide to framing when you can't afford frames right here.
5. Makeshift vanity lights
It’s always been a dream of mine to have one of the classic theatre dressing room style vanities all to myself. But that can be pretty spenny. Instead, you can fake that dream into reality by purchasing chunky fairy lights like these from Not On The High Street to drape around your mirror. How showbiz.
6. Treat your bum
If you're going to be perching on an old uncomfortable chair every morning, it may as well look fantastic. And from what we've gathered from the bloggersphere (and Instagram, obvs), the easiest way to up your chair game is to throw a little faux fur over it. A rug or a blanket, anything will do. Old trusty faithful Ikea have a super cheap fluffy one going.
7. Jewellery on the wall
Yeah, jewellery is always an issue. And the biggest pain in the ass by far is always storing your necklaces without them all knotting up when you try to grab one in a hurry. But we've found the solution. The wall is your friend, you guys. If you're up for a little DIY (and your landlord isn't a dick about putting a couple of little holes in the wall) get your initials in these cool wall hooks from M&S.
